THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED
Combining two of our favourite things… the V&A museum and ballgowns… this new exhibition has rocketed straight to the top of our must-see list.
In the newly renovated fashion galleries, Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 is beautifully displayed over two floors. Charting over 60 years of British designed eveningwear from the likes of Alexander McQueen and Zandra Rhodes, it’s a fabulously decadent exhibition.
Many of the ballgowns featured are couture pieces that have been handmade for their clients. There is even a selection of royal ballgowns including one of Princess Diana’s dresses, as well as striking celebrity red carpet pieces.
There are more than 60 designs being exhibited, which have been worn to high glamour affairs such as royal balls and private parties. Fashion innovator Gareth Pugh has also created a dress especially for the exhibition.
Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 is now on, and runs until 6th January 2013. To celebrate this fabulous exhibition we’re giving away three pairs of tickets.
